Treatment of the chronic prostatitis is one of the difficult and urgent problems of the medical world. It is a frequently repeated illness which is practically incurable in 30% cases. Contemporary methods offered for treatment (various medicine: anti-inflammatory – claforan, negram, ofloksacin, etc., chemical antibacterial preparations – furagin, sulphadimetoxin, lidoza, halve extract, vitreous solid, physiotherapeutic treatment – massage of prostate, warm micro enemas, mud rectal oakum and so on.) are aimed at suction of inflammatory process, abolition of bacteria and immunity increase of the organism. In case of frequent repetition of the disease the ill are cured for years taking different medicine and means of physiotherapeutic cure, though mostly the outcome is not satisfactory. In the result the emotional state of the ill is destroyed, they become hasty, disappointed and desperate. Because of disorder of sexual function they face destruction of normal family atmosphere. Though humanity has great progress in the sphere of synthesis of modern highly active medical substances in a chemical way, it became clear that, in certain cases, serious illnesses spring up in the organisms such as allergies, fungus disease, skin and nervous diseases, dysbacteriosis, as well as tumours, the treatment of which is even more difficult than that of the original disease. In the result of durable usage of various antibiotics, the bacteria undergo mutation and become practically invulnerable. So it becomes necessary to use other mighty, large-scale antibiotics in huge dosage alongside with other means of treatment which have negative consequences already mentioned above. Besides, the chemical preparations include one or more active substances. At the same time it becomes necessary to prescribe additional vitamins, sulphamate medicine, salts, ferments, etc. in order to develop immunity of the ill and to strengthen the influence of active substance. The latter increase the expenses of the treatment that is naturally undesirable for the patient.
Having 20 year scientific and practical experience in curing various diseases, we contributed it to treat the ill suffering from the above-mentioned diseases as well. Our herbal medicine includes rock salts, volatile oils, hormones, antibiotics, vitamins, ferments, etc. which overlapping each other strengthen and increase influence of active substance existing in plants. They have selective influence. They are accumulated and absorbed by sick organs that are in need of this substance. The mentioned attributes of the herbs make it possible to employ their long-term usage which influences the illness more effectively.
The medieval Armenian herbals mention numerous herbs which have anti-inflammatory, antibacterial features restoring sexual abilities, abolishing barrenness: Carum Calvi L., Acorus Calamus L., Tribulus terrestris L., Acgropyron Gaertn. L., Agrostemma githogo L., Peganum harmala L., Glycyrrhiza Glabra L., etc.
MATERIALS AND METHODS
Based on Armenian medieval recipes we compiled two herbal remedies (N1 and N2) which we used treating chronic prostatitis.
For three years (2000-2003) cooperating with “Veratsnund” (renaissance) proctological, gynecological, urological plastic center, we have kept under control 117 patients who have used liquid infusions made of herbals during their comprehensive treatment. Herbal medicines used by us are acceptable in our republic as well as in many other countries. The mentioned herbals have technical provisions issued by the “National Institute of Standards” of the RA and approved by the Ministry of Healthcare. The patients were 19 to 60-year-old people who have suffered from prostatitis for 2 to 10 years. N1 remedy mentioned above which has been given at the beginning of treatment, served as an absorbing anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial means. The patient has taken a cup of the remedy 2-3 times a day. As for the second remedy (N2), it has been taken 3-4 times a day (half of the cup) to regulate sexual abilities of the patient.
RESULTS AND ANALYSIS OF THE TREATMENT
At the observation it became clear that the patients who had taken the infusion of the herbal medicine during their comprehensive treatment recovered a lot. Duration of the treatment has halved, there is great positive move in their health in general, and work ability is restored. Harmful influence of the drugs is hardly noticed. Indexes of laboratory, sonographic and objective (finger) examination have either normalized or are near the normal. The reason is that active biological substance present in herbal medicine not only influence but also increase effect of the chemical drugs.
Herbal bouquets were given to the patients in succession, according to their numbers – N1, N2. Duration of the treatment lasted 2-3 months, during which double examination and clinical observations were carried out. Thus, comprehensive treatment of the patients suffering from chronic prostatitis with the usage of herbal medicine shoed that:
· Blood circulation gets better in the minor pelvis,
· Stagnation state in the gland eliminates,
· Influence of antibiotics strengthens,
· Size of the swollen gland decreases,
· Sexual functions activates,
· Frequent and dribble urination abolishes.
Herbal medicine rich with biological active combinations is a strong curing means thanks to its anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, disinfection, anti-allergic, diuretic features, as well as attributes strengthening sexual abilities and increasing general tonus of the organism. These medicines promote quick and effective recovery of not only chronic prostatitis but also other similar diseases without any harmful influences.
